While this 3D-animated short film by Jacob Frey isn't a Christmas movie per se, it does offer a touching storyline that centers around the act of gift giving and how such gestures of love and caring can change someone's life for the better.

Watch our Fab Friday 3D Animated Film Feature: Hambuster

Posted by John Telford on Aug 28, 2015 9:50:00 AM

In case you missed it, August 27 is designated as National Burger Day here in the U.S., and is it any wonder? The hamburger is one of the things we love about 'Murica. As a child, I loved hamburgers so much that I swore I'd only eat hamburgers when I grew up and got old enough to make mealtime decisions all on my own — much to my mother's chagrin.

Watch 'Yankee Gal' and remember our fallen heroes this Memorial Day

Posted by John Telford on May 22, 2015 1:01:55 PM

Another holiday weekend is upon us. Many will be kicking off the summer season by spending some time with family and friends, maybe having a barbecue or going to the beach or just relaxing and enjoying a well-deserved break from work.

I've got plans this weekend too, similar to those I mentioned above, but before I cut out for the long weekend I wanted to be sure to post this week's Fabulous Friday 3-D Animated Film Feature, Yankee Gal.

Fabulous Friday 3D-animated Film Feature: Going Dutch with 'Gracht'

Posted by John Telford on May 15, 2015 10:09:44 AM

I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's just the right season of the year, or perhaps we just know a lot of people entering transitional seasons of life, but several of our friends and family members are selling old homes and buying new ones right now. Realtors will tell you now is the perfect time if you're looking to sell. It's just before summer, and kids are finishing up the school year, so parents that are in the market for a new home are motivated to make a deal.

Plus, if you're at all interested in the financial markets, you likely know the Federal Reserve is poised to raise those rock bottom interest rates soon. Most financial pundits are saying that will happen in September, which means mortgage rates will start to rise. So, there's another reason the housing market is hot right now with buyers looking to lock in a low rate.

But with the buying and selling of homes, comes a loathsome chore…packing up your earthly belongings and putting your prized possessions in a truck to move to your new digs. I hate moving with a passion. Actually, that's not entirely true. I love the change moving brings. New city, new surroundings, etc. There's a sense of renewal for me when we move. It's the act of moving that I can't stand. All the clutter of boxes and the back breaking lifting is a horror in my book.

I despise it.

Wonderfully immersive world in hit-gone-wrong 3D animation, The Chase

Posted by John Telford on May 8, 2015 3:46:00 PM

It's been a few weeks since we posted the first Friday 3D-animation short film, and so it's high time for another one.

This week, we wanted to share a weird little film about three hitmen who ultimately square off in an alley of what appears to be a near-future European city. They're all interested in a mysterious briefcase carried by a black-suit-wearing-long-haired-but-balding (think Hulk Hogan without the fu manchu) spy who has the ability to mesmerize opponents with his pale blue eyes.

Use creative storytelling if you want people to remember your message

Posted by John Telford on Feb 27, 2015 5:15:28 PM

Do you remember the last time you were on a plane and the air safety video came on? Yeah, we don’t remember much about it either. But, Virgin America’s informational video is a tad bit different and has received more than 10 million views on YouTube. That’s pretty amazing when you consider the video is being watched by people who have sought it out and watched it on their mobile device or on their computer rather than being a member of a captive audience who's strapped into an airplane seat and forced to watch it.

Berona’s War video game trailer features sharp 3D animation and VFX

A screenshot of the terrain of Berona from the game trailer.

I’m always on the lookout for cool stuff to share on the blog, and over the Christmas holiday weekend I saw this great 3D animated trailer for The Block 5 Gaming Class over at the DAVE School here in Orlando. William Vaughan, the school’s academic director, shared the URL on Linkedin, and it’s really fantastic work and one of the better projects I’ve seen come out of the school.
